Congrats to Eddie Henderson

So what? Congrats to Eddie Henderson on his new release for Eighty-Eighty/Columbia! Eddie is definitely among today's most sought after trumpeters and we are proud of the fact that throughout his entire discography, some of his most creative solos can be heard on three LifeForcejazz CDs. Lately, we have received compliments and inquiries about our CD packaging services, so those of you who have taken favorable notice of the LifeForcejazz look, we acknowledge and credit Yee's Brain Design for matching visual ideas to audio concepts. Vern Thompson Series

LifeForcejazz welcomes the addition of the Vern Thompson Series to the catalog. Jazz composer and trumpet player Vern Thompson has produced three outstanding CDs featuring his original compositions. To accomplish this feat he recruited a host of great players, including Warren Gale, Bob Sheppard, Billy Childs, Tony Dumas and Akira Tana. June 19th of this year is the scheduled release date for new CDs by Calvin Keys, Elmer Gibson and Dawan Muhammad/Billy Higgins Sextet. An Evening With Calvin Keys is a superb documentation of the guitarist in live concert, featuring Tim Hauf on bass and the late Gaylord Birch on drums. Elmer Gibson Trio is also live, but in a nightclub setting with Rick Jones on bass and the legendary Ron Free on drums. Smoke Signal is in tribute to drummers Art Blakey, who passed before this recording and Billy Higgins, who co-led this recording session with Dawan Muhammad, but has since passed. James Smith, Phil Ranelin, Greg Kirstin, and Jesse Murphy join the leaders.
